The dream...
Our beginning started as most business endeavors with a dream.
I am a Reiki Master/Practitioner, I have had a practice in Dothan for 3 years. I envisioned a wellness co-op in Dothan. Most major cities have wellness centers that incorporate physicians, along with alternative and complementary therapy providers. My clients were certainly hungry for that and so was I.
About our building...
In late 2007, I was intrigued by a building that was for sale in Historic Downtown Dothan. This building was horrible (but I saw beautiful). It had been vacant for many years and had to be close to 100 years old. Though it had some renovations around the late 70's, it had been empty and falling into such disrepair that most of the people who looked at it wouldn't consider purchasing and renovating it.

There was so much heart put into the renovation of our building. Individuals came for day work and we provided them with pay. Many of the people working on our building developed a sense of pride in our project and their input, handwork and dedication. When it came time to "name" our building "a place to Renew" was so inevitably fitting. It seemed that anyone associated with our project was feeling a since of renewal. Not only were we renewing this tired old building, we were renewing ourselves, our professions and our goals. Now we are open and we are renewing our clients.

A dear friend responded to a picture I sent her of a place to Renew along with all the stories I told her concerning the renovation. I thought it was so fitting, I had to include it in our website history of a place to Renew.
I was especially touched by the front of the building photo.
She wears her new life so proudly it brings tears to my eyes.
To think, 100 years old and a polished jewel with a whole new life.
So befitting that she welcomes all who enter to renewal as well."
I truly believe that our thoughts have energy, our hearts sing and others can feel our song. Come feel the energy in a place to Renew and let us heal, educate, inform, relax and enlighten you!
