Ashley Motzenbecker, CD (CBI), PED
Ashley Motzenbecker is a labor doula and childbirth educator. She enjoys everything about pregnany, labor, birth and parenting and makes it a point to read and learn as much as she can on the subject. She is also a part of the Alabama Birth Coalition, which is working to protect the rights of mothers to birth in the way they choose. She is active in the community and tries to take part in anything related to pregnancy or birth at the local hospitals.

The word doula is Greek, and refers to a woman who personally serves another woman. She is a non-medical assistant who provides physical, emotional and informational support in prenatal care, during childbirth and during the postpartum period.
A labor doula provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support during labor and childbirth. She helps facilitate the birth experience for the parents, baby, and primary care providers and provides explanations of medical procedures and interventions.

Ashley offers several packages for Doula services and both private and group childbirth education classes. She also offers birth plan consultations and breastfeeding counseling. She will also be hosting free support groups for mom's and mom's-to-be in the upcoming months.
