Follow her journey on her blog!
Juli-Ann Waddell lives in Dothan with her husband, Stokes, 2 children, Mac & Annie and 2 dogs, Pierre & Lulu. She has been interested in health and wellness for over twenty years. In 2006, she took her passion to a new level by enrolling in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition located in New York City. In June of 2007, she graduated as a Holistic Health Counselor certified by the American Association of Drugless Practicioners.
As a health counselor, she is a personal advocate for living an energized and passionate life. Whatever an individual's concerns are, her job is to help them find which food and lifestyle choices will work best for them and the life they desire. When diet changes, everything changes. A true holistic approach to life incorporates things that nourish you other than food, including honest and open relationships, a meaningful spiritual practice, a career that inspires you, and physical activity that you enjoy. These elements are called Primary Food. As a health counselor, she works with people to help them find balance in both Primary Foods and the foods they eat on a daily basis.
The Program
In working with clients over the last few months, she has found that many people know what they "should" do but they have a hard time actually "doing" it on a consistent basis. Conventional dietary theories present you with food restrictions and limitations that are difficult to sustain over time. Such quick fixes do nothing to help achieve life-long health and happiness, nor do they bring out the body's natural inclination toward balance. Based on a client's individual needs, she will gradually introduce new and healthful foods and activities into their lifestyle. As they start to feel better, these habits will have a natural tendency to remain with them, and will crowd out the less healthful ones.
Juli-Ann is a source of support and accountability in the client's journey toward ultimate health and happiness. She offers a free initial consultation to discuss the client's unique situation in depth and determine how to help them reach their personal goals. Together you will determine whether you are a good match and if this approach will work for you.
During the program clients can look forward to:
The Personalized Program covers setting goals, dealing with cravings, taking consistent action, food counseling, making simple lifestyle changes, being healthy on the road and on the go, improving personal relationships & communication, integrating new, better food into your diet, making better food choices at work and on the go, getting support from others, creating lasting balance, ease in cooking, awareness when eating and in life and menu planning.
Other Services
In addition to one-on-one health counseling, Juli-Ann offers group counseling, cooking classes and workshops on specific topics such as "How to Raise Healthy Children", "The ABC's of Healthy Living" and "How to Beat the Sugar Blues" among others.
